Golf in Khon Kaen
There are two golf courses within minutes of OASIS and there are others nearby. A new championship course under construction by Singha Beer is due to open in 2009. The new Dancoon Golf Club recently opened an 18 hole layout that is player friendly, yet challenging.

Dancoon Golf Club
Dancoon was built in 2007 and has all the amenities you would expect at an international resort facility. The course plays long from the back tees, but offers four different tees to choose from. Water comes into play on six holes and the greens are fast and true. Dancoon is less than 10 minutes away!

Lo Pad Golf Course
Lo Pad is the most popular golf course in Khon Kaen. It is built on a military base and personifies local Thail golf. Groups of five or six are often sent out by the starter and there are snack bars every three holes. Play is usually slow.

Lo Pad has water on five holes but it should not come into play on three of the holes. It is not a long course but is tight in places and the greens are tricky. It has 13 holes open and plans to open the final five holes by the summer of 2009.
   
 
  Ubonrat Dam Golf Course

The Ubonrat Dam course sits in a lush green valley about 45 minutes north of OASIS. It is average in length with several challenging par five holes. The terrain is a little hilly and there are several doglegs in the layout. Water is often in view but does not come into play except on wayward shots.
  Victory Park Golf

This is a nice course in Nong Khai, a little over two hours north of us. It is a venue for regional tour events and plays tight through woodlands.
 

Greens fees range from 500-1,000 baht per round (US$ 15-30), including caddy. Golf cars are rare in Thailand and walking is the norm. In addition to the greens fees, players are expected to tip the caddies about 200 baht (US$ 6) per round.
